THIS WEEK:

  • Victoria’s roadmap to recovery has been released and now have an idea of what to expect with the return of live music. Entertainment venues will be expected to remain closed during steps 1 & 2 of the recovery plan. From the 26th of October, if cases are less than 5 a day on average (over the previous 14 day period), Victoria will move to step 3. This means entertainment venues with outdoor spaces can begin to reopen, with a patron capacity to be decided. The opening of these outdoor venues as well as outdoor events will be subject to pre-approved plans. Step 4 is the so-called ‘COVID-Normal’, which will see safety measures enforced across entertainment venues and events.

  • TikTok introduced their new ‘Stitch’ feature that allows users to re-use snippets of other peoples videos in their own content. This means users can respond or film reactions to other peoples content. With similar purpose to the ‘Duet’ feature on TikTok, ‘Stitch’ is a way to reinterpret and build on existing content.

  • Facebook is testing a function that allows users to view Instagram stories from the Facebook app. This function would allow those with linked Facebook and Instagram accounts to view Instagram stories of those they follow on Instagram via the Facebook app. Visually, the Instagram stories will be highlighted with a rainbow border, with Facebook stories keeping their blue border. Our opinion, keep the platforms stories’ separate.
