  • TikTok have announced the next event in their TikTok Masterclass series, the ‘TikTok Branded Effect Webinar’. This event will explore how brands can use augmented reality (AR) to engage with the TikTok community, a typically younger audience. Featuring Yinka Taiwo-Peters (Product Marketing & Strategy) and Subin Kim (Creative Strategy), the free education session will take place on September 11th at 8am AEST.

  • Social Media News Australia have just released their monthly report for social media usage in Australia in August. It shows that Facebook is still the most used social media with 16 million monthly active users. Behind them, with 15.5 million unique Australian visitors per month is YouTube. Instagram, WhatsApp and LinkedIn and Snapchat then follow.

  • The new iOS14 update for iPhones means that users will now have to opt in to being tracked by advertisers. This is a big win for user privacy, but a potentially huge loss for advertisers. Facebook have said that the hyper-targeted ads feature on their platform may not work anymore. This poses a risk for businesses who primarily use Facebook for advertising. Maybe it's time to expand your skills and learn about other platforms that host advertisements.
