  • The Facebook Business Suite has seen new updates.
With the new updates, users can schedule stories for both Facebook and Instagram. This will be a helpful tool for advertisers, previously you had to manually post an Instagram or Facebook story but now you can schedule it ahead of time. Drafting posts has now been enabled so instead of losing your post entirely you can save it in your drafts in case you want to post it later. There have also been new advertisement options that will allow advertisers to be more precise with their target audience. This ‘Conversion Lead’ makes sure that advertisers will reach people who are the most likely to buy or enjoy their product or service. Advertisers can now add a ‘Call Now’ button to ads so consumers can reach them more efficiently.

  • Popular invite-only audio central social media app, Clubhouse, is coming to Android users.

Clubhouse utilises audio and creates virtual rooms for live discussions in which users can participate or listen to. The app has seen major growth over the past year as audio apps become increasingly popular. The accessibility to Andriod users has been a restriction for Clubhouse, hopefully, within the next couple of months, we can see the app come to Andriod to keep up with competitors.

  • Instagram is expanding its live stream feature with the addition of live rooms.
The rooms will allow up to four people to be featured on the same Livestream. Instagram hopes that this expansion will “open up more creative opportunities — start a talk show, host a jam session or co-create with other artists, host more engaging Q&As or tutorials with your following, or just hang out with more of your friends.” What creators would you like to join on live rooms? Let us know!

  • Introducing Stationhead, the latest music-centric social startup.
They aim to bring personal and interactive touches to live radio broadcasts. They’ve grown rapidly since their launch and now host 100,000 active monthly listeners. They aim to be one of “the best broadcasting tools for creators and everyday people to use.” Broadcasters can monetise directly in the app and interact with listeners. This could be the next step in transforming radio platforms.

  • TikTok’s new advertising focuses on e-commerce.
TikTok is working on making it easier for users to buy their favourite products from their creators. Advertisers and creators will be able to use new integrated ads to directly link products shown in a video to the video. These new ‘Promo Tiles’ and ‘Showcase Tiles’ will show up as a thumbnail link on the video so viewers can click on it directly to buy it if they’re interested in the product. Advertisers can also use a ‘collection ad’ to show a product listing inside the video, which will also allow videos to buy the product directly. The final new ad tool TikTok is offering is called ‘Dynamic Product Ads’ which will allow an advertiser to re-connect with people who like the brand and show them new products. These tools will be helpful and should create a smooth buying experience on the app.
