  • With the return to live events already occurring in some countries, and with its eventual return in Australia there needs to be some COVID-safe precautions in place. We’ve found out about some cool tech inventions that are helping to reboot the events world. Introducing:

Grid: a new app that digitises events by moving ticketing, food/beverage orders and cloakroom to be all on your phone.

Biometric fever screening uses “a thermal imaging camera” to record temperatures of five people at a time! This will be really helpful for efficient admission of crowds into music venues.

Seats.io is a ticketing system that can now show buyers how the seats around them will be blocked out in accordance with social distancing. This feature rebuilds trust with ticket purchasers ensuring them that attending events can be safe!

  • Live Performance Australia has released guidelines to ensure a COVID-safe return to live music. Covering “auditions, rehearsals and performances” (IQ Index 2020) the guidelines provide steps that run alongside the easing of restrictions in each state and territory. Western Australia has significantly eased lockdown rules and are now allowed to have performances in “music venues and concert halls”, with the only limitation being a 50% capacity restriction for social distancing purposes. As for Victoria, we are eagerly awaiting the return of live music. Although, there is no doubt that there is much great live music ahead!
