This is the next e-commerce evolution for Facebook. “Live Shopping Fridays” will be a series on the platform, every Friday from today until July 16th. Selected retailers will be able to invite their followers to a live stream and then they can ask questions, see products and buy them directly from the Facebook platform. It is unclear if this feature will be available broadly in the future.

  • Instagram is finally beginning to test uploading options on desktop.

A common update wanted by Instagram users is the ability to upload Instagram posts via their computers. Finally, Instagram has begun to test this feature with their internal testers. According to app researcher Alessandro Paluzzi, this test started rolling out in early May. It is currently unclear whether this will become available broadly and if users will be able to post stories. The only way currently to post on Instagram is through the Facebook creator studio, which is only available to business accounts. Alternatively, users can use third party scheduling services to post to the platform. We hope this feature will be available to the public soon!
